Practical Telecom Engineering Education
Hands-on courses in network operations, OSS, SMO and O-RAN management, NETCONF and YANG, with exercises on real management interfaces.
New to telecoms? Start with Telecom Foundations: no experience needed.
Learning path
From complete beginner to OSS practitioner
Two free courses, taken in order. Each one ends with a certificate and a badge, and completing both earns the OSS Practitioner level.
-
Step 1 · about 40 hours
How mobile networks work and how they are monitored and run, in plain English: alarms, performance, configuration, management protocols, integration, automation, SMO and AI.
-
Step 2 · about 34 hours
Model-driven network management on a real NETCONF server you run on your own computer: YANG, datastores, safe changes, errors, notifications and access control.
Certification
Kaldrivon credentials, level by level
Level 1
Certified Telecom Associate
Complete Telecom Foundations.
Level 2
Certified NETCONF/YANG Practitioner
Complete NETCONF and YANG Engineering.
Level 3
Certified OSS Practitioner
Complete both courses.
Each credential comes as a PDF certificate with a verification code and an Open Badge you can add to LinkedIn or upload to Credly. Kaldrivon credentials are independent Kaldrivon programmes. They are not accredited by, or affiliated with, any third-party certification body.
Assessment
How you are assessed
- A knowledge check at the end of every module (70% to pass, unlimited attempts).
- A final examination (75% to pass).
- A hands-on final project on the simulators or your own NETCONF server, graded automatically (70% to pass, three attempts).
Pass them all and your certificate and badge are issued automatically.

Start here if you know nothing about telecoms. In plain English, this course
explains how a mobile network carries your calls and videos, how radio and
cell sites work, what Open RAN changes, and above all how the people and
systems behind the network keep it running: alarms, performance
measurements, configuration, how management systems talk to equipment,
integrations, automation, SMO and AI. Every idea is explained from the
ground up, with hands-on exercises in Kaldrivon's free browser simulators
and a final project you can show to an employer.
A rigorous, hands-on course in model-driven network management. You will
learn how NETCONF sessions, datastores, transactions, errors and
notifications behave on the wire, how YANG models define what can be
managed, and how both are used on the O-RAN O1 interface. Labs use the
Kaldrivon O1 Simulator and a private NETCONF sandbox you run on your own
machine.
